You can watch a measurement tutorial video here, or SBSD staff will be available to measure your child on Friday, November 10th from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Customer Appreciation Party.

Recital Agreement

I understand that all information regarding the 2024 Recital will be communicated via email and also posted on our website (www.sbsdinc.com).

I understand that the recital experience is most successful when every student has consistent attendance throughout the season, but specifically the last 2 weeks of class before the big show. We thank you in advance for your commitment!

I have read and reviewed the Important Dates, and my dancer will attend Dress Rehearsal (June 8) and Staging Run Through (morning of June 15).

I understand that ALL costume fees are non-refundable. I understand that if my child drops a class or withdraws from SBSD, for ANY reason, there are no refunds or returns for costumes.

I understand that the Recital Fee, which includes the dancer's participation in recital (all rehearsals + recital day), a professional recital video (via digital download), and professional recital photographs (via digital download), is non-refundable.

Measurements

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape horizontal, and have dancers stand with arms down at their sides.

Waist

Measure around the natural waist (To identify the natural waistline, instruct dancers to bend over to one side and have the measurer place a finger at the indentation. As the dancers stand up, use this point as the indicator for where to measure around the waist.)

Hips

Have dancers stand with their feet together and measure around the fullest part of the buttocks.

Girth

Measure AROUND the torso, starting at center of one shoulder, down the front of the body, THROUGH the legs and up the back of the body to the starting point. Measuring tape MUST FORM A COMPLETE CIRCLE around the torso!

Inseam

Place the measuring tape at the inner leg, measuring from the crotch all the way to the floor (or just below the ankle bone if dancer is wearing shoes).

There is a COSTUME FEE per class. Using the prices listed below, total the costume fee amounts for each class and list that amount below:

$75 - Pre-Dance + Combo Classes $125 - Pointe $80 - All Other Classes

Add the RECITAL FEE of $110 per dancer (or $60 for each additional sibling) to the amount listed above in order to calculate your total amount due:

The Show FAQ

This fee includes the dancer's participation in recital (all rehearsals + recital day), a professional recital video (via digital download), and professional recital photographs (via digital download)
Costume Fee - $70-$75 per class
Tights & Shoes
It will be the dancers responsibility to acquire the proper tights and shoes required for the recital. The Tights & Shoes list will be released in January and will list the style of tights and shoes needed for each class.
Recital Tickets
Recital tickets will be sold through the California Center for the Arts, Escondido in late May. Tickets prices will range from $20-$26 per ticket (plus any additional transaction fees).
There will be a 2:00 pm and a 7:00 pm show - most classes will perform in either the 2:00 pm show OR the 7:00 pm show, with a handful of classes performing in both shows. We will announce which classes will be performing in which show at Costume Pick Up Day on April 27th.
Each show will be approximately 2.5 hours.

Saturday, June 8th from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm at the RB Studio
